Harry Kane Urges Bayern Munich to Eliminate Arsenal and Salvage Their Season

Harry Kane acknowledges that if Bayern Munich is to salvage a potentially trophy-less season, its underperforming players will need to “step up and be counted” in their Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Arsenal.

When Kane joined Bayern last summer, winning trophies was not one of their goals. However, they have struggled at home, as evidenced by their failure to win the Bundesliga title on Sunday, which was the first time it had been won outside of Bavaria since 2012.

However, following their 2-2 draw with Mikel Arteta’s team last week, they will begin as favorites against them on Wednesday, and Kane thinks it is time for the six-time continental champions to put their experience to use.

“If you look at our results this year, the Champions League has seen a different kind of performance,” he declared. “I think we may have spent more time together and are more willing to work hard defensively and in other areas on the field.

It is time for me and the players who have been under a lot of pressure to step up and be counted—it is time we step up our game. Although there are high expectations, I believe the team has a strong belief that we can accomplish something tomorrow.

He felt that his career at Spurs was not over after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League final in 2019 and feeling that there was still work to be done in Europe’s premier competition.

“You always have that burning desire to go back there and take it one step further if you reach the competition finals and do not quite cross the finish line,” he remarked.

“This year presents a chance, and if we can seize it tomorrow night, we will be able to attempt to reach Wembley in a few more games.
